Treaty 6 Territory Acknowledgement
We gather here on Treaty 6 Territory, the shared home of the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuliné (Dene), Anishinaabe, Nakota, and Niitsitapi peoples. We also acknowledge the Métis homeland and the presence of Inuit communities in this region.
In Lauderdale and across Edmonton, many Indigenous Peoples’ ancestors have walked, cared for, and stewarded these lands. We honour their continuing connection to this place.
As Lauderdale Community League, we commit to listening, learning, and working together with all people—Indigenous and newcomer—to build a neighbourhood grounded in respect, shared responsibility, and hope for future generations.
